At Licious, we are building a high-quality, scalable consumer platform that delivers a seamless experience to millions of users. As an SDET 2, you will play a critical role in ensuring product quality through an automation-first approach, with a strong focus on mobile application testing.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about building robust automation frameworks, improving release velocity, and driving quality across the engineering lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end quality for features with a strong bias toward automation (70%+), especially across mobile platforms
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for mobile (primary), APIs, and web
• Build high-quality, reusable automation scripts with a focus on reliability and maintainability
• Drive mobile automation strategy using Appium (Android & iOS) and improve mobile test coverage
• Perform API automation, integration testing, and UI automation across services
• Ensure seamless CI/CD integration for automated test execution and faster feedback loops
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design teams to define test strategies early in the lifecycle
• Identify defects proactively, conduct root cause analysis, and drive resolution
• Continuously improve test coverage, execution speed, and stability of automation suites
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and advocate for best practices in quality engineering
• Contribute to performance and scalability testing (good to have)

Required Skills

Automation & Programming (Core Focus)

• Strong programming skills in Java or JavaScript
• Hands-on experience with:
• Mobile Automation: Appium (must-have, primary focus)
• UI Automation: Selenium / Playwright
• API Automation: RestAssured / Postman
• Strong understanding of:
• OOP concepts & design patterns
• Test frameworks: TestNG / JUnit
• Experience in building modular, scalable automation frameworks

Engineering & Tooling

• Proficiency with Git, Maven/Gradle
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Strong debugging skills across mobile, API, and backend layers
• Working knowledge of SQL / databases

Manual Testing (30%)

Strong foundation in:

• Test case design techniques (boundary value, equivalence partitioning, etc.)
• Functional, regression, and exploratory testing
• End-to-end scenario validation across mobile + backend systems

Experience in:

• Requirement analysis and identifying gaps
• Writing clear and structured test cases and test plans
• Using bug tracking tools (JIRA, etc.)
• Debugging and reproducing complex issues

Good to Have

• Experience with cloud-based testing platforms (BrowserStack, LambdaTest)
• Exposure to performance testing tools (JMeter, K6)
• Understanding of microservices architecture
• Basic knowledge of Docker / Kubernetes

Qualification and Experience

• 4–6 years of experience in QA / Test Automation
• B.Tech in CSE or a degree in a relevant field
• Proven experience in mobile automation testing in a product or consumer tech environment
