Description

The Technician I, Quality Assurance will assist the Quality Assurance Supervisor and Manager in ensuring compliance with all Manufacturing Quality and Food Safety Policies and Guidelines. The Quality Assurance Technician will play a key role in our company’s commitment to the production of the highest quality safe foods. The Quality Assurance Technician must be able to interact across interdepartmental boundaries in a professional, proactive manner, avoid conflicts, and exemplify a collaborative spirit. This role is assigned to our 3rd Shift.

 

General Duties:

  • Monitor existing product SKU's and directly recommend/leads development improvements with R&D.
  • Monitor quality of incoming raw materials and finished products, including organoleptic evaluations.
  • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
  • Complete Pre-operational Inspections each morning and evening including swabs weekly.
  • Monitor general upkeep of production area.
  • Monitor verifications for CCP's on the floor.
  • Perform Specification Testing on certain incoming raw materials as needed. 
  • Monitor daily label checks, HACCP, operational, weekly thermometer checks, weekly temp tags and Calibration requirements.

Work Environment:

  • Production areas have moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Production areas are temperature controlled, which may include cold or hot environments.
  • You may be required to work overtime, which may include Saturdays, or the possibility of working in another department as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work within temperature-controlled environments (Heat/Cold)
  • Walk on slippery wet surfaces.
  • Hand/eye coordination.
  • Handling (holding, grasping).
  • Seeing/depth perception.
  • Walk/stand 100% of shift.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Occasionally required to reach at/or above shoulder level.
  • Occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive motions and movements throughout the scheduled shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months of quality or related experience required.
  • Production, manufacturing, or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of USDA/FDA regulations, 3rd party audits, GMP’s, SSOP’s, HACCP, BRC and process control.
  • Intermediate level computer skills – excel, word, PowerPoint.
  • Verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Be knowledgeable of and follow the safety procedures and policies as outlined by Monogram Foods.
  • Be knowledgeable of safe food handling practices, HACCP, and quality control procedures in your department.
