Software Quality Engineer (Automation, AI‑Driven Testing, Playwright) LOCATION: Hyderabad, India

GRADE: 11

Position Summary & Key Areas Of Responsibility We are seeking an experienced Software Quality Engineer with deep expertise in ATM applications, fintech systems, and modern automation frameworks, who can ensure high-quality delivery across ATM, switching, and digital banking ecosystems.

This Role Requires a Strong Combination Of

• Manual + Automation testing
• ATM domain expertise (hardware + transaction flows)
• AI-assisted QA practices (Copilot, Cursor)
• Next-gen frameworks like Playwright

Key Responsibilities

• Be part of an Agile team, actively participating in Sprint ceremonies and owning test deliverables.
• Manage assigned tasks, track progress, and proactively report risks to timelines.
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Perform:
  • Functional, regression, and integration testing
  • Volume, performance, and reliability testing
• Execute manual test cases on ATM systems, including:
  • Transaction flows (withdrawal, deposit, balance inquiry, transfers)
  • Card handling, PIN validation, and error scenarios
  • Hardware-software interaction validation (cash dispenser, card reader, receipt printer)
  • Field testing and lab-based ATM validation environments
• Set up and manage test environments, including hardware labs, virtual systems, and networking configurations.
• Develop automation for complex system integrations and workflows.
• Leverage AI-powered tools (Copilot, Cursor, etc.) to:
  • Accelerate test case creation and maintenance
  • Generate automation scripts and reduce manual effort
  • Improve defect detection and root cause analysis
• Implement AI-assisted testing techniques, including:
  • Auto-generation of test scenarios
  • Intelligent test coverage optimization
  • Smart debugging and failure analysis
• Use automation to improve testing efficiency and reduce repetitive processes.
• Perform API testing and automation for SOAP and REST services.
• Manage physical and virtual QA lab environments, including ATM devices and simulators.
• Execute and analyze load/performance tests, providing actionable insights.
• Apply strong debugging and troubleshooting skills to assist development teams.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering or equivalent role.
• 5+ years of experience in QA processes, methodologies, and standards.
• 2+ years of experience in test automation, CI/CD, and tools like Jenkins.

Core Testing Expertise

• Strong experience in:
  • GUI, backend, and database testing
  • Enterprise application testing
  • Functional, integration, and end-to-end test design
• Experience in API automation (REST, SOAP)
• Exposure to Fintech / Banking / ATM domain
• Experience with ATM simulators, switch systems, or payment networks

Automation & Tools

• Expertise in automation frameworks and tools such as:
  • Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, BDD
  • Rest Assured, SOAP UI
  • Jenkins, Maven
• Hands-on experience with Playwright (NEW) for modern UI automation and cross-browser testing
• Experience with Kubernetes-based deployments and testing environments
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices

AI & Modern Testing Skills (NEW)

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development/testing tools:
  • GitHub Copilot / Microsoft Copilot
  • Cursor or similar AI-first IDEs
• Experience leveraging AI for:
  • Test case generation and optimization
  • Automation script creation
  • Test data generation
  • Debugging and defect triaging
• Strong ability to validate AI-generated outputs for correctness, security, and reliability
• Awareness of responsible AI practices in QA workflows

• Experience with:
