This role is fully remote and highly autonomous, ideal for professionals with extensive expertise in manual testing, compliance validation, API testing, and secure financial transaction processing.
You’ll be working on mission-critical payment systems, taking end-to-end ownership of the QA process, ensuring regulatory and transactional accuracy for systems involving Visa, Mastercard, UPI, SWIFT, and more. Key Responsibilities
🔍 Payment Systems QA Ownership

Design and implement detailed test strategies, plans, and test cases for all payment transaction types.

Lead the QA efforts across transaction initiation, authorization, settlement, and reconciliation.

Independently manage quality throughout gateway integrations and cross-border payment processing.
🧪 Comprehensive Functional Testing

Test flows across POS, gateways, acquirers, card networks, and settlement layers.

Validate complex financial features like multi-currency, taxation, chargebacks, fee calculation, and compliance reporting.

Support UAT and ensure bug-free production rollouts.
🧷 Compliance & Security Testing
-
Ensure adherence to PCI DSS, EMV, PSD2, ISO8583, SWIFT, etc.

Test for data security, encryption, masking, and fraud detection mechanisms.

Simulate failure scenarios like expired cards, CVV errors, and edge case declines.
🔌 API & Backend Validation

Use Postman, SoapUI, etc., to manually test REST/SOAP APIs.

Conduct SQL-based testing on relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL to ensure integrity of financial transactions.
🪲 Defect Management & Reporting

Log, track, and prioritize bugs using JIRA, Bugzilla, or HP ALM.

Perform root cause analysis and generate detailed QA reports.

Collaborate with developers and stakeholders for timely resolution.
⚙️ Tools & Frameworks Exposure

Utilize tools like TestRail, Confluence, or QTest for test case management.

Familiarity with simulators such as FINsim, OTS, Paysim for transaction emulation.

Optionally engage in mobile testing (Appium, Espresso) and performance testing (JMeter, LoadRunner).
Key Requirements

10+ years of experience in software QA with 3–5 years focused on financial/payment systems.

Strong knowledge of ISO 8583, AS2805, payment gateway protocols, and scheme compliance (Visa/Mastercard/UPI).

Skilled in manual testing of payment APIs, banking workflows, reconciliation, and settlements.

Excellent command over SQL, API testing, and bug lifecycle management.

High precision, analytical mindset, and ability to mentor junior testers.

Exceptional English communication skills; ability to write clear reports and test plans.

Ability to work independently and with cross-cultural teams (notably Australia-based).
