Job Overview
Hiring Deeds is seeking a Senior Selenium Automation Engineer with a strong foundation in test automation and hands-on experience in both Selenium WebDriver and Cypress. This contract-based, remote role is ideal for experienced QA engineers with 8+ years in the industry who can design, implement, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks. You will be working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure high product quality and timely releases. Availability during 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST is required to align with global project schedules.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver (Java or Python).

Enhance and support test automation frameworks for UI, API, and regression testing.

Collaborate with development, QA, and product teams to gather requirements and define effective testing strategies.

Perform code reviews and mentor junior automation engineers on best practices.

Utilize Cypress for specific automation tasks or to support migration strategies.

Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.

Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues by analyzing logs and debugging tools.

Maintain thorough documentation of test plans, cases, and results.

Keep up with the latest trends and technologies in automation to continuously improve testing efficiency.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

7+ years of experience in QA automation, with a strong focus on Selenium WebDriver.

Proficient in developing automation frameworks using TestNG, JUnit, or PyTest.

Practical experience with Cypress and JavaScript-based automation tools.

Knowledge of API testing using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or equivalent.

Solid understanding of QA methodologies and best practices.

Familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.

Experience with JIRA, TestRail, or similar test and bug tracking systems.

Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
