Details:

Hanford Laboratory Management and Integration (HLMI), Inc. has an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Specialist at the Hanford Laboratory (222-S) located in the 200-W area of the Hanford site. The individual will be responsible for assisting the analytical and quality assurance departments with the validation of data to ensure that project reports are completed according to regulatory and customer requirements. Β The individual will also be responsible for other quality management system tasks as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  1. Review environmental laboratory data in an organized and concise manner, consistent with and as prescribed by corporate, US EPA, and Industrial Hygiene data validation standard operating procedures, quality assurance project plans, and published analytical methods.
  2. Assist project management in the review and completion of final reports to customers.
  3. Take direction and execute various quality management system assignments as requested.


Details:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS degree in chemistry or related field and two (2) years of laboratory and/or quality experience
  • Ability to review environmental laboratory data for completeness, correctness, compliance against the analytical methods, and usability utilizing corporate data validation standard operating procedures, US EPA data validation guidelines, and Quality Assurance Project Plans
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Β 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS plus 5-7 years of experience
  • Familiarity with US EPA methods for the sampling, preparation, and analysis of environmental samples
  • Instrumental laboratory analysis experience strongly preferred (GCMS, GC, ICP, ICPMS)
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Extensive experience (i.e., computer literacy) working with MS Office products and Adobe Acrobat - capable of performing tasks such as data presentation, technical evaluations using Excel and creating Excel spreadsheets; email management; and preparation of reports/documents using desktop software
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently as required
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (e.g. TNI, ISO 17025, NQA-1, etc.)
  • Experience with Software QA testing and control
  • Proficient in organizational skills and detail-oriented
