The salary range for this role is $66,906 to $115,000. Siffron considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Manager position has the responsibility for directing the quality department and provide a structured system that ensures the delivered part quality meets or exceeds our customer requirements: ensure compliance to and maintain the site registration to ISO9001 Quality Standards: promote awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain and improve facility Quality Assurance Systems; perform responsibilities as the plant Management Representative for the quality system; organize and document management review meetings; manage and direct internal audits of quality system and report on Quality System performance to top management
  • Owns the ISO quality system and its processes (Internal Audits, Management Review, Corrective Action, Training Records, SOP’s, ISO Records, etc.)
  • Leads Internal and External Corrective Action Process to ensure the corrective actions are completed in a timely manner
  • Respond to Customer Complaints and resolve issues in a prompt and professional manner
  • Direct quality control objectives and ensure that products produced meet required customer standards
  • Provide quality support with multi-functional new product development teams
  • Support new product teams utilizing APQP
  • Direct in-plant control of non-conforming product including quarantine of product not meeting quality requirements and seek timely disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Support other department functions
  • Adheres to siffron Des Plaines ISO (EHS) safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
  • Actively speaks up and reports safety, environmental or quality concerns

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure new employees on ISO 9001 requirements pertaining to their job function
  • Mange the reporting of site quality KPI and customer required reporting
  • Support gage calibration/verification
  • Other duties as assigned

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Effective management of existing quality systems
  • Maintain quality and deliver goals as set by siffron and client expectations.
  • Own the corrective action process (customer, supplier, and internal actions)
  • Accuracy and timeliness of information
  • Attendance and punctuality

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • Responsible for Quality Technicians

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. 


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Advanced degree in a technical discipline or relevant experience 
  • 5-10 years knowledge of and work experience in quality systems required
  • Proficient in MS office (Access, Excel, Word).
  • Background in plastics and/or metal forming manufacturing processes preferred
  • Training and experience in SPC, formal problem-solving techniques (8D, 5 why etc.) and lean manufacturing.
  • Strong management and supervisory skills with a focus on teamwork.

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a team to achieve company objectives
  • Effective facilitation and coaching skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external customers
  • Structured, systematic work skills and habits required.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Up to 10% travel, mostly local occasional customer visits as required.
  • High energy level to meet deadlines/schedule. 
  • Standing for long periods of time.
