Role Description

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer (Fresher) to join our team in Kolkata (On-site).

In this role, you will be involved in both manual and automation testing activities. You will work closely with senior QA and development engineers to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our web and mobile applications. Your responsibilities will include manual test case design, test execution, bug identification and reporting, along with learning and implementing automation testing concepts and scripts.

• Candidates with 0 years of experience are eligible.
• Candidates with any prior work experience (internships allowed) will NOT be considered for this role.

Responsibilities

• Understand product requirements, user flows, and acceptance criteria
• Analyze requirements and translate them into clear and detailed manual test cases
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, expected vs actual results, and supporting evidence
• Assist in automating validated manual test cases for web or mobile applications
• Collaborate closely with developers and senior QA engineers to ensure the timely resolution of quality issues

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals and QA principles
• Good knowledge of manual testing concepts, including:
• Test case design and execution
• Test scenarios and test coverage
• Bug life cycle and defect reporting
• Basic programming knowledge in Java / JavaScript / TypeScript
• Basic understanding of test automation concepts and frameworks
• Familiarity with any automation tool or framework, such as Selenium, Playwright
• Basic understanding of API testing using tools like Postman
• Awareness of SQL basics (writing simple queries, data validation) — added advantage
• Familiarity with Git and basic version control workflows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or any related discipline.
• Any graduate with relevant technical knowledge and strong fundamentals is encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.

Probation Period

This role includes a 6-month probation period. During this period, the candidate’s technical growth, learning ability, problem-solving skills, communication, and teamwork will be evaluated.

Successful completion of the probation period will result in confirmation as a full-time QA Engineer with Edwid Technologies.

Compensation

The expected CTC during the probation period will be in the range of ₹2.0 – ₹2.5 LPA, depending on the candidate’s skills and performance during the evaluation process.

Upon successful completion of the probation period, compensation will be revised in line with industry standards, subject to individual performance.
