Quality Assurance and Automation Engineer

Job brief

We are a software product company building scalable, cloud-based platforms involving web portals, mobile applications, backend services, databases, and hardware-integrated systems.

As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be part of the Quality Engineering team and will work closely with Developers, Product managers, and Support teams to ensure high-quality, reliable, and scalable product releases.

This role offers hands-on exposure to testing React-based web portals, Node.js backend services, PostgreSQL databases, Mobile applications (Android & iOS), APIs, and device-to-server integrations, following Agile and Continuous Delivery practices.

Roles and Responsibilities

Functional & Manual Testing

• Understand product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Design, write, review, and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test data
• Perform manual testing of:
• Web applications (React JS based portals)
• Backend services (Node.js APIs)
• Mobile applications (Android & iOS)
• End-to-end system workflows involving devices, servers, and applications
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing

Automation & Continuous Testing

• Automate repetitive and regression test cases as part of regular integrated releases
• Execute and maintain automated test suites for:
• UI testing
• API testing
• Analyze automation results and report failures with clear reproduction steps
• Collaborate with the team to improve test automation coverage and stability

Agile & Collaboration

• Work directly with Agile development teams on a daily basis
• Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and release discussions
• Facilitate quick identification and resolution of defects found during builds and deployments
• Participate in design and requirement reviews to provide early QA feedback

Quality Process & Improvement

• Contribute to defining and maintaining QA standards, procedures, and best practices
• Identify gaps in test coverage and suggest improvements
• Investigate and evaluate testing tools, frameworks, and processes to improve:
• Product reliability
• Release stability
• Testing efficiency
• Maintain proper test documentation and reports Defect Management
• Log defects with clear steps, screenshots/logs, and expected vs actual behavior
• Work closely with developers to help diagnose issues
• Re-test fixes and improve automated tests to prevent regressions
