Role Overview Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst Job Description A QA Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products by designing and executing test plans, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues before release.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements and technical specifications
  • Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts
  • Perform manual and/or automated testing
  • Identify, document, and track bugs using tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla)
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders
  • Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing
  • Validate fixes and perform re-testing
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and best practices
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • Proven experience in software testing or QA role
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and tools
  • Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and databases
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress)
  • Knowledge of programming languages (Java, Python, or JavaScript)
  • Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman)
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
  • ISTQB certification (optional but beneficial)
