Job Overview:
Norstella is seeking a Senior QA Engineer – Automation with strong expertise in test automation, API/UI validation, and performance testing. In this role, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining automation frameworks, defining testing strategies, and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality across our portfolio of life sciences platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Define automation test strategy and test planning in collaboration with Product Owners and Architects.

Build, maintain, and enhance automation test frameworks for UI, API, and functional testing.

Perform automated regression testing, smoke testing, and performance validation across multiple environments.

Write and execute test cases that cover both functional and non-functional aspects of applications.

Perform API testing using tools like Postman and automated test scripts using Selenium, Playwright, or Testim.

Validate web applications using test tools and frameworks like Selenium + TestNG, Cucumber, GHERKIN.

Report and track test coverage, defects, and automation metrics using tools like Jira or Test Management Systems.

Collaborate closely with developers and DevOps teams for CI/CD pipeline integration.

Participate in Agile ceremonies and align testing efforts with sprints.

Raise risks or blockers early to Technical Architects or Scrum Masters.

Manage test environments and prepare consistent, reusable test data.

Contribute to the culture of continuous quality and advocate shift-left testing.
Required Qualifications:

9–12 years of hands-on experience in Software Testing and Quality Engineering.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering (IT/CSE/ECE), or related field.

Strong programming knowledge in Java, Python, or C#.

Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript.

Expertise in UI automation with tools like Selenium, Playwright, or Testim.

Solid experience with API testing (Postman or similar tools).

Familiarity with Cucumber, GHERKIN, and behavior-driven development (BDD).

Basic/advanced SQL for data validation.

Hands-on knowledge of Agile, Lean, and shift-left QA principles.

Cloud experience with AWS.

Excellent communication, debugging, and documentation skills.
Nice to Have:

Experience in performance testing using tools like K6, Grafana, JMeter.

Exposure to security testing concepts.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).

Prior customer-facing experience or stakeholder engagement skills.
