Position: QA Automation Engineer (Tech Support)
Location: Surat (Work from Office)
Shift: US EST Hours (Flexibility required, 10 PM to 6 AM IST)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: Competitive, as per market standards


Role Summary:
As a QA Automation Engineer at TestGrid, you will design and maintain scalable automation frameworks for Web, Mobile, and API testing. You will serve as a technical point of contact, directly supporting global clients and facilitating the adoption of TestGrid products through expert guidance and troubleshooting in a tech-support-focused role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, automate, and execute test cases for Web, Mobile, and API platforms using tools like Appium, Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, Cypress, Postman, RestAssured, and JMeter.
  • Build and maintain custom automation frameworks with Core Java, leveraging tools such as Maven, TestNG, and CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, CircleCI, Bitrise, GitHub Actions).
  • Provide hands-on client support for TestGrid’s TestOS product, guiding automation design and technical queries.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand test requirements, conduct troubleshooting, and deliver technical demos and onboarding walkthroughs.
  • Integrate automation scripts into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and release management.
  • Advise clients on automation best practices, framework architecture, and product integration.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, contribute to cross-team QA strategy, and drive process improvements.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and clear communication with internal and client teams.
  • Ensure compliance with current QA methodologies (functional, regression, integration, performance, smoke, UAT, BDD/TDD, shift-left testing).

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in automation testing (Web, Mobile, APIs).
  • Advanced coding proficiency in Core Java.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Selenium, Appium, TestNG, Maven, RestAssured, CI/CD integration.
  • Experience with BDD/TDD (Cucumber, JUnit), shift-left practices, and performance testing (JMeter).
  • Familiarity with industry-standard test methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for client support and team collaboration.
  • Flexibility to work during US/EST time zones as required.

Preferred / Good-to-Have:

  • Experience with cloud-based testing platforms (TestGrid, SauceLabs, BrowserStack, LambdaTest).
  • Exposure to XCTest, Robot Framework, Selenium IDE.
  • Knowledge of API test automation frameworks and microservices testing.
  • Prior technical support or client-facing experience.
  • Understanding of Agile and DevOps best practices.
